Design thinking investigation into future technology in the enterprise surveillance system in UX/UI
The fast evolution of digital connectivity has made us assume that sending text messages is concerning each other’s safety. However, we have forgotten how have we been managing our safety in physical reality.
This User Experience/User Interface design project has taken on investigation of today’s surveillance safety solution, looking at tomorrow and envisioning the future. The background setup was at the shopping mall Emporia in Malmö, in the year of 2025. During that year it is predicted that the surveillance system will be using map navigation with advanced technology. Thus, it will soon bring the digital world into the physical world, and create a new world called “Mixed reality.”
By interviewing and researching in professions that involved the surveillance system, complex problems were identified. The project has been carried out in designing a total new user interface in the video management system(VMS), collaborated with a programmer partner. This subject will also address the differences in the professional relationship between Designer and Programmer. During the process, four kinds of interfaces version were designed and developed. Parts of the inspirations were taken from movies, games, and anime. Especially the world of “Ghost in the Shell” has been used as a story reference, where the fictional crime fighting police unit, utilizes high-tech surveilance technology to solve cases.
The future technologies and further development had been discussed. Nine participants had taken part in the user test of a future situation to support the development. If the designed interface could connect to a wearable device that helps to support communications between the operators and guards in an environment, how might the surveillance of tomorrow be?
Sprint X is an invention of giving more flexibility to short distance amateur athletes's feet and increase excitement of speed for every training on track & field. Based on the research that wearing track spikes have the effect of boosting athletes's confident to run faster, they should be wore more often for training and not only during performance.
The noticeable part is the "Flex Lacing system" that athletes can adjust the lace's tension to fit their feet perfectly. The outsole is shaped with the attributes of sharp, silient, accurate and cool. Sprint X is using Primeknit as upper part, a single piece weave built for flexibility and strength, leaves a smooth look
Sprint X is designed to shape the future of sprinter, be the gold medalist.

SH12 is a wall clock, which plays on the relation of an object and its shadow to create concealment and exposure. It represents the subconscious nature of time, and reveals hours only by its shade / shadow.
Shadow, is a living thing which only follows something that is alive. Time cannot be seen. Reality is controlled by time, and unreality emerges in shadow. The true essence of the passing hours is masked beneath an elastic fabric.
A functional design, combining both hard and soft materials, mysteriously veils part of itself beneath a silky surface to bring forth the shadow.
Feel the hours alive, and enjoy the colorful time, day by day on the wall.

Buoy is a portable and rechargeable lamp based on the idea that people should be free to roam as they please when choosing a place to mingle amongst nature. The concept derives from the idea of floating navigation buoys, which guide sailors even during the darkest moments.
The result is a small, terrain adaptable, adjustable beacon of light that can be carried from kiosks, food trucks, outdoor restaurants, towards your place of choice. So you never have to be constrained to fixed seating areas again, and are able to enjoy nature how it’s supposed to be: naturally.
